鈾irls....is this correct because I am so confused????

To straighten hair:

1. I have oily hair so whenever I'm going to flat iron my hair...I should wash it right?

2. I use Herbal Essance drama clean shampoo and a conditioner for oily hair...use condtioner to keep hair straight and smooth?

3. After washing my hair....I comb a heat protector with my clean hands and comb it thro neatly so that my hair doesnt burn with the flat iron right?

4. I take sections of my hair and split it up and straighten it right?

5. And then...I use a anti= puff cream to keep my hair from messing up the whole day right?

Is this the correct steps for straightening my hair?

When I straighten my hair I blow dry it first, aiming the hair dryer down and pulling my brush down to help straighten it before I use the flat irons. But everything else you said sounds right..

yep! tip for using conditioner..if you want shiner hair, dont apply conditioner to your roots, and rinse it out with cool water. (something my hairdresser told me, and it works!..although i dont have oily hair...)

It probably wouldn't hurt your hair to NOT wash it before flat-ironing, the oils in your hair are natural protectants. BUT - since washing your hair is something that needs to be done, this is what I would recommend for oily hair:

1. Wash, focusing on your scalp and roots, don't lather too much near the ends.

2. Condition - keep the conditioner mostly away from your roots, focusing mainly on the ends. (See the opposite between #1 and #2 here? This will help keep the oily look from appearing at your roots, and keep yoru ends from drying out).

3. Finger-rake the heat protector through your hair and blow dry it out with a big flat brush or a round brush.

4. Section, run the iron through to straighten.

5. Use some kind of finishing/shine serum, and maybe a light spritz of hairspray to keep your bangs to the side or your part in line if that's an issue for you.

Why do u want strait hair?

I have strait hair but it never keeps the style that i want.

(BTW it long and reddish brown not short and blue)

first off u dont have oily hair...u have oily scalp, and alot of products sold for oily scalp problems ...make the problem worse by drying the scalp out and making it produce even more oils to protect itself. try PAUL MITCHELL TEA TREE shampoo , most conditioners are only for daily management of hair, if u want healthy hair get a lite detangler for daily use and a moisturizer for weekly use.

Also using all of those products on it is NOT helping .... "anything can be good ... in MODERATION." SO i recommend that u get matrix sleek look iron smoother , it will help protect and smooth ur hair with one lite product.
