I don't think it really matters. A wooden one may cause less static.

It doesn't matter if it's wooden or plastic. A comb is always better than a brush b/c brushes rip through hair. Combs work through hair. I think wide toothed combs r best.

I don't know.... I would think the wooden one is better because it's organic and it has wider Brissel's for thicker hair, but I have thick curly hair and a regular comb seems to work fine (P.S my hair is not the same as my Avi's)
