What is better for my hair type, gel mousse or hairspray?

I have naturally thick frizzy curly hair that comes to my shoulders (wavy when i comb it), and since I straighten my hair, my hair is severely damaged, but I'm getting a haircut this weekend (just a trim and style). But after my hair cut, I want to know if i should use gel, mousse or hairspray to get a natural wavy look without damaging my hair. I really love the waves that seem to be popular these days and I want to achieve it without hurting my hair anymore.

A good friend has the same problem--rather than straightening her hair she gets a gentle perm--on really large rods--creating waves rather than the tight natural curls she has. As for gel or hairspray--either is good as long as it has a conditoner and little or no alcohol (look at the ingredient statement on the label).

First you need something to control the frizz and repair the damage. Mousse is mainly used for volume..You don't need it. Gel will tame the waves, but you also need a leave in conditioner or gloss. Top it all off with some hairspray

I have found the best hair product for soft curls is Be Curly by Aveda. It is mor like a lotion that you work in your hair when wet. I looks great. If you still feel you need something to tame that frizz...try a nice shine serum. If your hair is severly damaged you need to you a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and may even want to seep condition. I dry my hair and straighten it everyday and my hair never looks damaged. You need to keep good hair care and have regular cuts. If you have a regulare stylist...I reccomend talking to them on what would be a good hair care regement for you.

Ok girl I have the same kind of hair...and through yrs of bad school photos not being able to find the right stuff...i finally figured this out....ok do not use hairspray it will break your ends off and damage it....mousse and gel great!...ok let me tell you a trick i learned to help with the frizz....when you wash your hair put about a dime size of black ppl shampoo in with your regular shampoo...so not use conditioner because the black ppl shampoo will do that for you...when you get done put this serum in it called zero frizz...its the same as frizz ease but half the price....after you use the frizz ease if your going for waves or curly use the gel and mousse...girl let me tell you my hair looks awsome when i get done!!!
