What is the best hairbrush for dry damaged hair?
The best kind of brush to use is one with boar bristles. The reason why its good is because it helps distribute the oils in your hair as you brush. Also, the bristles "treats" damaged hair better.
In addition to hairbrushes, you should look into a dandruff shampoo, deep conditioner, and moisturizing leave in cream to help improve your hair.

use a natural bristle brush. this will help to add shine and softness when blowdrying. have you tried nioxin yyet? this helps to regrow hair. its not like rogain or that other crap that helps you keep the hair you have. this actually regrows it. start now though. you can get this at your local salon. the starter packs run around 40$. you want the starter pack because it comes with a booklet to help you understand the product and how it works, and why you loose your hair. it usually takes about 2 weeks before you see a differsnce. but it will be worth the wait.

i have the same problem =/
i use a wide tooth comb most of the time.
especially when hair is wet, or damp.
before i wash my hair i use a boars hair bristle
brush, that gets all the oil down the shaft of your hair
as well as get styling products out, and detangling.
but i wouldnt recomend it all the time, it usually makes my
hair tick straight down so it looks kind of greasy. eck.
goody also makes a brush for damaged hair.
its infused with jojoba oil.
their called styling therapy brushes.
(remember to deep condition every 3 days and try to use redken anti-snap after you towel dry your hair)

I read some of the other answers and they gave you good advice. The only thing I will add is always, always comb or brush from the bottom up. and never brush out tangles, always comb them outh from the bottom up. never brush really wet hair, use a styling brush made for wet hair. Also, deep condition your hair once a week.
