I know you use a fine tooth comb or rat tail comb and run it back and forth, but do you do it and spray after or before? Any tricks/tips to share? thanks!

Back combe it using a fine tooth combe , spray it afterwards. Then use Charles Worthington dream hairspray which will add shine.

Before and after. You can also use giant velcro rollers. Spray hair, then place hair over roller (do a few around crown, and dont curl hair around them unless you want wavy hair). Then shoot with hair dryer for about 30 seconds, and let cool completely. Gently pull out rollers and finger come lightly. okay, section your a hair a bit. spray some conditioning spray because teasing is quite damaging. then take a section of hair in the back and take the comb and comb down and out, not up and down...then do this to a couple of more sections, with the hair sticking up, take a brush and brush over the teased portions.

when i need to rat my hair i always make sure that i havent washed it in about a day (but thats only because i have very fine hair and it wont hold if its really clean).then i take a chunk of hair,hold it up straigt, and with a fine toothed comb brush the hair down towards my head.i do that all over then i kind of sculpt it into the shape i want and spray it all over with aussie instant freeze hair spray (works great for mohawks too) but you have to sculpt it a little more before it dries...and it dries fast! then i spray once more all over.
