Need opinions on straightening combs?

After countless attempts to straigthen my extremely short, coarse, wavy hair, Im going to try a hot straigthening comb. I think its my only chance.

What do you guys think of this one? Or doy ou know of a better one? I just want to buy one quickly.

ALso, how should I prepare my hair before I straighten with that? It seems taht by the time my hair is dry, its rough-feeling despite letting a conditioner sit in it for a while, and it feels its not manageable enough. Do you think this comb will still straighten it?

Im hesitant to use relaxers and such. I want my hair to stay.

Thanks all

I've been straightening my hair since I was 12. I've been through so many straighteners that I don't even remember how many I've had. I wouldn't recommend a straightening comb, but rather a really thin flat iron. I just bought a Chi, and it's the best flat iron i've ever used. They are pretty pricey, but you can get a discounted on on ebay (still new, of course).

Also, to keep my hair from getting rough I use a lot of conditioner. My hair is naturally dry and course, and by using lots of conditioner in the shower it's much smoother when it's dry.

I would also recommend a chemical straightening. It works so well, and keeps your hair straight when you get rained on, get out of the pool, etc. etc.

A flat iron is waaay better.. Thats what I use.. You can get one that straightens your hair even if its wet.. There are some cheap ones at Target that work wonders! =]

Try the ones that look like giant curling iron with soft brush brissles. I think Revlon makes one. I've been using them for years. It gets the hair salon straight and smooth and conviently flips your ends either up or under. Use on partialy dry or dry hair with some kind of smoothing balm. I like Paul Mitchels super skinny, or silky slip. It's also great for making soft spiral waves if you get sick of the straight look after a while.

I wouldn't go with the relaxers and things like that just yet. The comb didn't really work for me..and if your hair isn't manageable after letting conditioner sit for a little..it may hurt just trying to put it through your hair.

I would say the best way to straighten hair is to blow dry it straight..(not saying to wear it like that..but it helps!) Once you get out of the shower don't let your hair dry completely..grab a comb/brush and blow dry your hair to where it's as straight as it's going to get..Section off your hair and have some hair serum handy (hair serum can help for the damage of heat and also leave your hair silky and shiny..you can get this at any beauty store.) ...take a section and put a little drop of the serum on the hair and use a hair straightener (I heard ceramic straightners are best because the heat stays in the straightner..but costly!) works pretty good
