do you use a brush or comb? Do you like the 'spiked' brushes ( the hard rubber spikes) or rat tail combs? Or bristle brushes and full sized combs?

Brushes are the worst thing you can use on your hair. Especially the ones that have lots of bristles. They pull your hair, sometimes beyond the natural elasticity of the hair, causing the hair to break, and encouraging split ends.

I have a wide toothed 3 rowed comb that I use on my hair exclusively. The rat tail on it makes it easy to use to separate my hair when I'm curling it. And the teeth are just enough to smooth my hair without pulling and tearing.

I use a bristle brush on the sides of my head.

I fear the top of my head couldn't take it.

I haven't had the need for a comb in a long time.

I use both, but combs prevent split ends so those are better.

But for brushes, I like barrelled bristle brushes.

I don't use anything, just get out the tangles when conditioner is in my hair at night, then put it up overnight and it looks great in the morning. If I try and do anything else to it it just goes all frizzy

Anything to get the tangles out, as conditioner never really does the trick. Right now it's just a regular comb, with a small and large side.
